Man Found Dead In 'Tent City' In McHenry County: Officials

WOODSTOCK, IL — Police are investigating after a 51-year-old man was found dead in a wooded area in Woodstock on Wednesday evening.

Emergency crews responded around 6 p.m. to the area behind a Shell gas station on North Eastwood Drive, which is a homeless encampment known as "tent city," after a passerby reported an unresponsive person in the woods. Officers located the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Lake & McHenry Scanner.

Authorities said there are no signs of foul play, and the cause of death remains under investigation by the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.
