Man Gets 11 Years For Home Invasion, Death Threats
Authorities said the 24-year-old assaulted a woman, stole cash and later called her threatening to return and kill her.
WOODSTOCK, IL — A 24-year-old Chicago man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison after authorities said he forced his way into a Woodstock home, assaulted a woman, stole cash and later threatened to kill her.
Christopher J. Holman was sentenced Wednesday by McHenry County Judge Mark R. Gerhardt after pleading guilty to home invasion, a Class X felony, according to the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.
The charges stem from a Jan. 22, 2025, incident when Woodstock police responded to a report of an armed man forcing his way into a residence, striking a woman in the head and stealing cash from a table inside the home, prosecutors said.

The woman, who had previously met Holman, identified him by name to responding officers.
While police were still investigating at the residence, Holman called the woman and threatened to return to her home and kill her, according to prosecutors.

"Absolutely terrifying. No one should have to fear for their safety inside their own home," McHenry County State's Attorney Randi Freese said in a statement. "This man not only violated the security of the victim's home but then attempted to terrorize her with threats against her life."
Holman will also be required to serve 18 months of mandatory supervised release following his prison sentence.
