Man Gets Prison For Attacking Man In CVS Lot, Trying To Steal Car Keys
The attack happened in April 2020 in the parking lots of the CVS in McHenry. Cory Wolf has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 44-year-old McHenry man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for attacking a man in a CVS parking lot in April of 2020 and attempting to steal his car keys.
Cory Wolf was found guilty during a bench trial in May 2023 on charges of attempted aggravated robbery, aggravated battery and criminal damage to property.
He was sentenced to the prison time during a hearing before McHenry County Judge James Cowlin on July 6, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney.

Wolf was wearing a mask and claimed to be armed with a gun when he approached the man in the parking lot at the CVS, 3900 Elm St. in McHenry, just after midnight on April 13, 2020, the Lake/McHenry County Scanner is reporting. He hit the man in the face and neck several times, threw the man to the ground and tried to steal the keys to his 2013 Ford Focus.
Court records show the man suffered cuts, bruises and a bloody nose in the attack, according to the Lake/McHenry Scanner.

Wolf must serve 50 percent of his sentence before he qualifies for release.
