Man Killed in Crystal Lake Crash Identified as Wheeling Man

A pedestrian struck and killed while crossing Route 31 just north of Route 175 in Crystal Lake Tuesday morning has been identified as Seymour Fishman, 80, of Wheeling.

An autopsy performed Wednesday showed Fishman died of blunt force injuries to his head and chest, according to a McHenry County Coroner’s Office press release.

Fishman was hit by a 2007 Chevrolet HHR at about 10:27 a.m. Tuesday. The Chevrolet was driven by a 60-year-old McHenry man, according to the Northwest Herald.

Fishman was taken to Centegra Medical Center in McHenry where he was pronounced dead at 11:11 a.m. No citations have been issued in the crash, according to the Daily Herald.
