Man Secretly Filmed People In Store Restrooms: Police

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A 20-year-old McHenry man has been charged with unauthorized video recording, a Class 4 felony, after police said he secretly filmed people from a bathroom stall at a Meijer store in Sycamore.

Officers were called to the store at 541 Puri Parkway on March 1 after a person reported being recorded in the restroom and provided police with photos of the suspect and his vehicle. Investigators later identified the man as Jerardo Hernandez Alonzo, according to Shaw Local.

The newspaper is reporting that a forensic search of his phone did not recover the alleged Meijer video but did uncover three similar restroom recordings from 2024, authorities said.
