Man Sentenced In Heroin Overdose Death
Christopher Birong pleaded guilty to a drug-induced homicide charge, prosecutors said.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL -- A 46-year-old man pleaded guilty to a drug-induced homicide charge in connection with the heroin overdose death of Shawn Ackerman of McHenry last summer. Christopher Birong has been sentenced to seven years in prison, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office. Ackerman died of an overdose on July 10, 2018.
Authorities say Birong provided the heroin that lead to Ackerman's death.
