Man Wanted On Weapons Violation Accused In Shooting
Dante L. Terrell now faces an attempted murder charge in connection with a shooting in McHenry.

MCHENRY, IL — A 28-year-old Zion man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that happened in McHenry Sunday. Meanwhile, authorities said Monday they are continuing to "aggressively investigate" the incident and track down other people involved.
Police were called to the intersection of Route31 and Bull Valley Road for a report of shots fired at about 1:25 p.m. on Sunday, according to a news release from the McHenry Police Department. Authorities believe two vehicles were involved, a red Jeep Compass and a silver Nissan Maxima, and say more than 50 shell casings were found at the scene
Gunfire did hit one vehicle, but no one was injured, police said. Dante L. Terrell, Jr., 29, of the 2300 block of Joppa Avenue in Zion, has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon in connection with the shooting.

Terrell was also wanted on a warrant at the time of the shooting for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.
