Mariano's Opens Tuesday, Brings Unique New Offerings To Town

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – The day is almost here. The new 75,000-square-foot Mariano's grocery store will open along Northwest Highway in Crystal Lake Tuesday morning. The grocer plans to open its doors at 105 Northwest Highway, the former location of Crystal Lake's Sears store, at 6 a.m. on May 1.

The property will also include 19,000-square-foot gas station. The business brought 350 new jobs to the area.

On Monday, the city welcomed the high-end grocery store to town during a ribbon cutting ceremony. Mariano's employees and police and fire department personnel filled vehicles with 400 bags of food donated by Mariano's for the Crystal Lake Food Pantry.

In a Monday news release, Mariano's provided more details into some of the unique offerings at the Crystal Lake location. The store will include an Oki Sushi, Todds BBQ, and made-to-order juices and smoothies at SQUEEZ’D.

• Todds BBQ offering daily smoked brisket, ribs and more, all with a variety of sauces to fit shoppers’ tastes.
• Oki Sushi with a menu of poke bowls, signature colorful Maki rolls and sashimi creations prepared by on-site sushi chefs using only premium, restaurant-quality ingredients that include sustainable sushi-grade seafood and organic produce, rice, nori, and fish flown in from Japan
• Don Fino offering tacos, taco salads and tostadas along with Mariano’s signature made-to-order guacamole.
• SQUEEZ’D smoothie bar that showcases a variety of made-to-order, all-natural fruit and vegetable smoothies, plus Mariano’s signature fresh-squeezed fruit juices.

The Mariano's store also houses a Starbucks coffee shop, fresh meat and seafood grilled onsite as well as homemade gelato, with a special flavor crafted exclusively for Crystal Lake. Customers also have the option to use ClickList, which lets them order groceries online or through the ClickList app for pickup or delivery.

“When our doors open tomorrow, customers will find unparalleled customer service and unique restaurant-quality amenities all in one location, whether you want to eat here, grab something on the go, or find the fresh ingredients to prepare a meal yourself,” said Don Rosanova, president of Mariano’s.

The Mariano's also has a full-service pharmacy.

Mariano’s Crystal Lake is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. The pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
