Mary "Scout Finch" Badham packs Woodstock Opera House; hands out scholarship awards at Talent Showcase
Woodstock Fine Arts Association packs the Woodstock Opera House: Mary Badham and Talent Showcase draws crowds
Mary Badham, a film legend in the Oscar-nominated role of Scout Finch in “To Kill A Mockingbird,” drew a sold-out house of fans to the Woodstock Opera House on April 20. Her appearance marked the finale of the Woodstock Fine Arts Association’s 53rd season of Creative Living, one of the oldest lecture series in the country.

After Badham’s talk and answering questions from the audience, she posed for pictures with fans and autographed stills from her films.

That evening, Badham attended WFAA’s Talent Showcase, an annual event which features performances on the Opera House stage by outstanding high school seniors in McHenry County who have received Helen Wright Scholarships. Badham was invited to present the ten $1,000 cash awards given this year.
