
In a game where men’s basketball team needed to win to have a shot at a home regional game, the Scots fell short against the College of Lake County Tuesday night at home.
The Scots fell behind early on and couldn’t get past Lake County in a 82-73 loss.
Four players scored in double figures for MCC (11-16, 5-8) led by DeShawn Wash, who had 16 points and 10 rebounds. LeBarron Hull added 13 while Mershon Wilkes and Marcus Marshall each scored 10 points for MCC.

The Scots will honor their five sophomores Thursday night for Senior Night against Waubonsee Community College at 7:15 p.m. in a game that can be seen at www.mchenry.edu/athletics.

Scots Women Rally But Come Up Short
With the regular season winding down, McHenry County College’s women’s basketball team looked for a win Tuesday night against Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference rival College of Lake County. MCC rallied from 11 down to pull within one but couldn’t get over the top in a 50-46 loss.
MCC (2-27, 0-13) kept the game close in the first half, only trailing 23-18 at the half. Lake County took an 11-point advantage early in the second half before MCC scored 10 straight points to cut the deficit to just one point.
Chrishaya Dixon scored 18 points to lead the Scots while Jerrica Graham and Alyssa Haayer each scored 12 in the defeat.
MCC will have Senior Night and will honor Haayer, the team’s lone sophomore, Thursday night in the team’s final game of the regular season against Waubonsee Community College at 5:15 p.m. The game can be seen at www.mchenry.edu/athletics.
