MCCD Hosts Fest With Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides
The Fall Family Festival will be held on Oct. 13 at Rush Creek Conservation Area in Harvard.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL -- McHenry County Conservation District invites all ages to stop out to its Fall Family Festival and Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides on Saturday, October 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Rush Creek Conservation Area, 20501 McGuire Road, Harvard. Come out to celebrate this fascinating transitional time of year with free family-friendly activities, horse-drawn wagon rides, arts and crafts, games, and half hour puppet shows at 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. Enjoy children's music/storytelling with special guest Clare Norelle, performing bilingual songs and stories from 2–3 p.m. and 3:30–4:30 p.m., according to a McHenry County Conservation District press release.
Seasonal snacks and refreshments also available to purchase.
Celebrate the splendor of the season on a one-mile horse-drawn wagon ride. With a backdrop of the changing fall forest foliage, you’ll travel through the brilliant autumn prairie on this naturalist-guided experience.

The event is free. Pre-register for wagon rides at MCCDistrict.org, $5 per person (under 4 free when riding on a parent's lap), according to the news release.
Space is limited. Wagon rides leave every half hour and meet at the group campground. Please arrive ten minutes before your scheduled ride. No refunds issued for non-attendance or cancellations received after October 5.
