Craft Brew Crawl

Saturday, October 26 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. at Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Rd., Ringwood. Join us for a beer-tasting hike through Glacial Park. We will make several stops to taste different micro-brews from local breweries. While you taste your beer we’ll share some educational snippets to keep your brain and taste buds invigorated. You must be 21 and present a valid ID. Fee: R $15.00/NR $20.00. Just for Adults, ages 21 years and older. Registration required.

Insect Investigations

Saturday, November 2 from 10–11 a.m. at Coral Woods Conservation Area, 7400 Somerset, Marengo. Did you know there’s a hidden world right at our feet? Learn how to use nets to catch insects, pay a visit to an insect log home and play an insect themed game. Come get your hands dirty while exploring a world often unseen! Fee: R Free/NR $5.00. Just for Kids ages 3–8, with chaperone. Registration required.

Make Your Own Paper

Saturday, November 2 from 1:30–3 p.m. at Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Rd., Ringwood. Learning to make your own paper is easy, fun, and environmentally friendly. Discover how you can reduce, reuse, and recycle all in one afternoon. Take your samples home and amaze your family and friends! This is considered a beginner class. Fee: R Free/NR $5.00. Adults and Families ages 5 and up. Registration required.

Discovery Days

Tuesday, November 5 from 10–11 a.m. at Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, Route 31 and Harts Rd., Ringwood. Enjoy an hour of fun including a game, craft, snack and other educational activities all based around the special theme of the day. A short hike will be included, weather permitting. Fee: R Free/NR $5.00. Just for Kids ages 2–6, with chaperone. Registration required by 11/1.

Coyote Campfire

Friday, November 8 from 7–8:30 p.m. at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road, Crystal Lake. Gather around the campfire to find out more about the adaptations and social life of the “prairie wolf”. We will hike to listening spots and enjoy a favorite campfire snack. Dress for the weather. Fee: R Free/NR $5.00. Adults and Families ages 8 and up. Registration required.
