McHenry Co. Conservation District Summer Programs

Residents will be able to sign up for the programs starting this week.

CRYSTAL LAKE-CARY, IL - From McHenry County Conservation District: McHenry County Conservation District’s summer program offerings are loaded with both indoor and outdoor nature enthusiast adventures. Come out to Geocache After Dark, test your Dip and Drip skills as you explore pond and creek, or try Cooking with the Sun. People of all ages will enjoy getting outdoors discovering winged beauties in Bubbling Bobolinks or Dragonflies and Damselflies, or going on a Luminary Bike Ride, or taking in a Kohl’s Wild Theater ‘Jamboree’ performance. See a Barn Full of Bats, check out the Outdoor Discover Lab! series or float along on a Lunch and Learn Kayak Trip. There is something for everyone! Most programs are free.

Registration opens for County residents on May 10, Non-residents May 20. Register online, by phone (free programs only) at (815) 479-5779, by mail and walk-in at Prairieview Education Center, 2112 Behan Road in Crystal Lake, or drop-off only at Lost Valley Visitor Center, Route 31 and Harts Rd. in Ringwood.
