McHenry Home Uninhabitable After Fire

The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

The McHenry Township Fire Protection District was called to a house fire in the 2600 block of Fair Oak Lane in unincorporated McHenry on Sunday afternoon. All occupants of the home were able to evacuate prior to firefighters’ arrival. Crews quickly located a fire in the crawl space of the residence, according to a news release.

The fire was extinguished within ten minutes.
No one was injured in the blaze but the home is currently unhabitable.

Damage is estimated to be about $10,000.

The fire is not believed to be suspicious in nature and the cause remains under investigation, fire officials said Sunday.
