McHenry Man Dies When Plane Crashes in Wisconsin

The 67-year-old McHenry man and a 19-year-old Wisconsin man died in the crash near Sheboygan Falls, Wis.

SHEBOYGAN FALLS, WIS. -- A 67-year-old McHenry man and a teen from Wisconsin was killed when a plane went down in a farm field near Sheboygan Falls, Wis., on Friday afternoon, according to media reports. The pilot and passenger killed when the a single-engine Aerotek Pitts S-2A crashed have been identified as Dennis D. Hall, 67, of McHenry, and Filip J. Smecko, 19, of Janesville, the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports.

The plane was flying around the Plymouth area before crashing near Highway O and Willow Road had performed a barrel roll just after 12:30 p.m. on Friday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

The plane crash is under investigation by the Sheboygan County Sheriff's Department, the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board, according to NBC 26.
