McHenry Man Faces Grooming, Solicitation Charges

MCHENRY, IL — A 20-year-old McHenry man faces indecent solicitation of a child, grooming and possession of child pornography charges following a 15-month investigation, authorities said. Timothy A. Marcinko, of the 6200 block of Longford Drive, was taken into custody at his home on Halloween without incident.
Authorities launched an investigation into Marcinko in July 2018, according to a news release from the McHenry Police Department. Marcinko allegedly used an online service to attempt to get an out-of-state juvenile to perform a sexual act.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Department of Criminal Investigations and the Illinois Attorney General's Office assisted in the investigation, police said. Marcinko has been charged with 32 counts of indecent solicitation of a child, a Class 1 felony; 36 counts of possession of child pornography, a Class 3 felony; and four counts of grooming, a Class 4 felony.

He is being held at the McHenry County Jail on a $100,000 bail.
