Meditarenean Fast-Casual Restaurant To Open First Location In McHenry County

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL —A popular fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant is coming to Crystal Lake.

CAVA, which currently has 12 locations in the Chicago area, plans to open this summer at 5689 Northwest Highway in Crystal Lake, Emma Vogt, a spokeswoman for CAVA, told Patch Monday.

CAVA is a fast-casual restaurant chain serving customizable Mediterranean-inspired bowls, salads, and pita wraps. Customers can build their dishes using bases, like grains, greens and/or a pita, and adding proteins, such as CAVA's harissa honey Chicken, grilled steak and falafel, and dips, like its crazy feta, hummus, and plenty of toppings, including olives and pickled onions.

CAVA officials could not provide any other updates regarding when exactly the restaurant would open or any details surrounding construction, which is currently underway on the restaurant.

CAVA currently has a handful of other suburban locations, but this will be the restaurant's first location in McHenry County. Other CAVA locations can be found in Kildeer, Vernon Hills and Des Plaines.
