Mercy Health Officials to Visit Village Board

Mayor Tom Kierna and Village board members have invited Mercy Health System representatives to the Mar. 1 board meeeting to discuss plans for the proposed $200 million Crystal Lake hospital at the southeast corner of Route 31 & Three Oaks Road.

The approved a resolution to support a hospital as requested by Mercy Health System Feb. 15.

reported that "Once approved by the state and area localities, building the 356,000-square-foot facility would create approximately 800 construction jobs; and about 800 permanent jobs once building is completed."

According to Village release,  the Mayor and the Village borad "are very interested in the proposed Hospital given the significant positive impact it would have on the Village of Cary and the entire southeast McHenry County area."

There is development ready property close to the proposed hospital site and the Village believes "A Hospital immediately on Cary's border would provide more expedient emergency healthcare and significant employment opportunities for Cary residents."
