Authorities said Faith Kies was shot by a 24-year-old man. The man then took his own life.

A 16-year-old Woodstock girl who was found shot Friday night in Phoenix has died, according to media reports.

Phoenix police told the Northwest Herald that Faith Kies, a student at Woodstock North High School, was taken off life support Saturday evening, according to the newspaper.

Kies was reported missing last week and police in Phoenix went to check on a possible location for her and her boyfriend, Alexander O’Neil, 24, when the shooting occurred, according to the Associated Press.

Officers were at the door of O’Neil’s parents home at 43rd Avenue and Cactus Road during a second visit to the location when they heard shots fired, according to an earlier article on the Northwest Herald. They found the McHenry County girl critically injured and O’Neil with a gunshot wound to the head that authorities said was self-inflicted.
