Teen Found With Missing Girl, 15, Charged: Police

A missing 15-year-old Woodstock girl was found safe Wednesday morning.

WOODSTOCK, IL — A 15-year-old Woodstock boy has been charged with interfering with police officers after a missing Woodstock girl was found with him in a home Wednesday morning, police said. The 15-year-old girl, who was an acquaintance of the boy, had gone to the home voluntarily, according to a news release from the Woodstock Police Department.

The girl's family called police around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday to report the teen was missing. The girl's mother also posted information on her Facebook page urging local residents to keep an eye out for the teen.

The local police department "worked diligently" through Tuesday night searching for the girl. On Wednesday morning, the police department learned the girl was found at a home in Woodstock and responded to the residence where they found the teen and learned she was there "voluntarily with a 15-year-old male acquaintance," according to the news release.

The girl was not harmed and was taken to an area hospital for a medical evaluation, police said.

The 15-year-old boy was charged with one misdemeanor count of interfering with public officers, and then released to his guardians, according to authorities.

The Woodstock Police Department, District 200 school administrators and McHenry County State's Attorney's Office worked together during the course of the investigation, authorities said.
