More Info Released In Fox Lake Hit-And-Run

A 30-year-old North Chicago man was killed in the early Monday hit-and-run.

FOX LAKE, IL — The McHenry County Sheriff's Office has released more information regarding the car involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash early Monday in Fox Lake.

Authorities say the car is believed to be a Kia Forte, but it's still not clear if the car is a two- or four-door vehicle, according to a news release from the McHenry County Sheriff's Office.

Police are continuing to investigate the collision, which happened near Wilmot Road and Paddock Drive, and is asking for the public's help in tracking down the suspect, or suspects.

Authorities were first called to the scene of the incident at about 2:05 a.m. Monday when a man was found lying in the roadway, according to a news release. The 39-year-old North Chicago man was unconscious and not breathing and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities say the man had been standing outside his car, after it became stuck in a ditch, when a vehicle headed south on Wilmot Road hit him and then left the scene.
