More Rain Causes More Flooding Woes, Road Closures, Traffic Delays
Heavy rainfall fell on the area overnight and thus morning.

The rains overnight and this morning are causing more flooding throughout the area. And more rain is on the way, weather officials said.
A flood advisory in effect through 9:15 a.m. for Southern Lake, Cook, Kendall, Northern Will, Southeastern Kane and DuPage counties. Storms from last night and this morning have left the ground saturated and could cause minor flooding throughout the area.
A flood warning remains in effect for the Fox River in Algonquin and for the Des Plaines River in Gurnee, Des Plaines, Lincolnshire and Russell.

More rain is possible this afternoon and on Friday and Saturday.
The rainfall this morning caused some localized flooding and left water on roadways, snarling traffic during the morning commute, WBBM reports. There are extensuve delays on major highways and expressways throughout the area.

In Algonquin, officials have added N. Harrison St. between Edward and Front to its road closures list this morning. More information on road and park closures can be found on the village's website.
