Motorcyclist Seriously Injured In Route 14 Crash
The collision near Route 14 and Coventry Lane shut down a portion of Route 14 for nearly two hours Thursday evening.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — One person was seriously injured when a motorcycle collided with a sport utility vehicle Thursday evening near Route 14 and Coventry Lane in Crystal Lake.
The collision happened at about 6 p.m. and led to police shutting down a portion of Route 14 for nearly two hours, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.
A preliminary investigation into the crash revealed the motorcycle was headed east on Route 14 when it hit the SUV, which had also been headed east on Route 14 at the time of the collision, authorities said. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call the police department at 815-356-3620 or text the word CLPDTIP, along with the tip information, to 847411.
