Narcan Used to Rescue Woman Who Took Prescription Medication, Heroin: Police
The Crystal Lake Police Department has carried Narcan since April of this year.

A Crystal Lake woman in her 20s was saved from a potential overdose death after local police officers administered Narcan, a drug meant to reverse the effects of an overdose, police said Monday.
Crystal Lake police were called to a Crystal Lake home on Friday evening where they found the woman who not responsive and struggling to breath. Officers leaned the woman likely took higher-than-prescribed amount of medication and an unknown amount of heroin, according to a Crystal Lake Police Department press release.
Officers administered a nasal Narcan into the woman. Within a minute, the woman woke up and began to breath normally, police said.

She was taken to an area hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Officers from the Crystal Lake Police Department have carried Narcan since April of 2014.
