Small craft breweries have been popping up throughout the suburbs recently and one of the newest locations has opened its doors in Cary.
Cary Ale House, at 208 W. Main St., opened in April but is not yet brewing its own beer. The business decided “to first focus on its food” with hopes to start a Kickstarter campaign in the future to raise funds to build the “brewery we needed to brew exceptional beer,” according to the Ale House’s website.

For the time-being, the ale house has 84 “guest beers” for customers to taste.
Owners Chris Panagakis and Dustin Davies met three years ago at a local home brewing supply shop. The two discussed over the years their desire to open a brewpub.

“After stepping into the Cary Public House for a drink and realizing it was for sale – the stars aligned and we were on our way to realizing our dreams,” according to the Cary Ale House’s website.
The business aims to continue the tradition of the Cary Public House, which has since closed, as a “friendly, laid back, community atmosphere,” according to the Cary Ale House website.
Other local breweries that recently opened in the area include the Crystal Lake Brewing, at 150 N. Main St., and Scorched Earth Brewing, 203 Berg St. in Algonquin.
