New Principal Approved for Indian Prairie Elementary School

Jodie Moss will replace current principal, Jim Kelley, when he retires at the end of this school year.

A new principal will take the helms at Indian Prairie Elementary School starting with the 2016-17 school year.

The District 47 school board last week approved the appointment of Jodie Moss as the new principal at Indian Prairie. Moss will replace Jim Kelley, who will be retiring at the end of this school year, according to a District 47 press release. Kelley has been the principal at Indian Prairie since 1994.

Moss has been the principal at East Elementary School in Zion since 2008. Before that, she was the assistant principal at Leggee Elementary School in Huntley.

Moss began her career as a first grade classroom teacher in North Chicago, and then served as a reading teacher and reading coach in Lake Forest and Grayslake.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to join the Indian Prairie family and look forward to getting to know everyone in the 2016-2017 school year,” Moss said. “It is clear that Indian Prairie is truly a special place with a dedicated staff and involved families. I am excited to join such a wonderful educational institution.”
