Northwest Highway Reopens Following Collision

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL —Northwest Highway has reopened following a collision Monday morning that closed down the busy thoroughfare.

The Crystal Lake Police Department sent an alert over Nixle at 10:40 a.m. regarding the collision, which happened at Northwest Highway and Exchange Drive, and announced at 1:10 p.m. that the roadway had reopened. The road closure reportedly caused traffic delays and heavy congestion.

WBBM reported over Twitter that a utility pole was split in half during the crash .
