In January, a group of nine lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives reintroduced the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, H.R. 763. This groundbreaking bipartisan climate solution will put a price on carbon, give revenue to households and bring greenhouse gas emissions down 90 percent by 2050!

In the past four months, the number of co-sponsors has grown to forty representatives including three Illinois co-sponsors! This bill proposes a steadily rising price on carbon pollution with all revenue returned to households equally. This is good for business and creates jobs. This is the first bipartisan climate legislation to be proposed in a decade.

On June 24, the panel of McHenry County Citizens' Climate Lobby members: Pat Dieckhoff, Karen Dombrowski, Rick Johnson and Beth Holland will outline the various aspects of H.R. 763 and explain how the bill complements the Green New Deal. Please join us to find out about this important legislation! Question and answer session to follow.
