(Lake in the Hills, Ill.)--- Moms are asking administrators at their children’s schools to add Wholesome Tummies to the lunch menu according to Jennifer Bychowsky, owner of Wholesome Tummies Chicagoland. “Good news about good food is traveling fast,” said Bychowsky. “Parents are asking for our fresh made, natural ingredient lunches to improve their children’s diet and performance at school.”
Wholesome Tummies, a franchise that provides healthy food options to schools and parents is located at 9471 Ackman Road. The business opened in January 2013 with one client, Trinity Oaks Christian Academy of Cary. Word-of-mouth and praise from parents has increased the client list to include the following area schools:
· Highland Christian Academy of Elgin

Bychowsky is still expanding the program further with geographic coverage for the franchise throughout the Chicago region. She opened Wholesome Tummies after 15 years as the corporate travel director for a consulting firm. Her husband and co-owner, Mike, owns a Young Rembrandts children’s art franchise; so staying within the children’s franchise industry made perfect sense. With Bychowsky’s own son starting kindergarten this Fall, concerns about school lunches and kids’ nutrition are more apparent than ever.
Bychowsky said. “Health concerns like cancer, obesity, and even ADHD can all be traced back to a poor diet; and the earlier a child learns the importance of eating right, the better off he or she will be in life.”
With Wholesome Tummies, children can be served healthy, balanced meals, prepared fresh daily. Each month, Wholesome Tummies’ nutritionists and chefs develop unique (and kid-tested!) menus. Recipes are designed with the ideal portions and nutritional content for growing children. October menus include –
· Homemade Soup
· Enchiladas with Homemade Sauce
· Macaroni and Cheese with Barbeque Chicken
· Chicken Mashed Potato Bowl
· Penne Alfredo with Chicken
Of course the choices include crowd pleasers like pizza, chicken tenders and baked French toast, plus healthy dessert choices.
The process is simple. Wholesome Tummies contracts with schools; and parents can choose to opt-in to the service and place orders for their kids through the Wholesome Tummies website. There are no long-term contracts; and parents can order as many meals each month as they wish.
Beyond lunches for school children, Wholesome Tummies Chicagoland offers Family Dinners available from 3:30 to 6:00 pm at their storefront in Lake In the Hills. Families can order online up to 36 hours in advance and pick up delicious, healthy, ready-to-eat meals for dinner.
Founded in 2007 in Orlando, Florida, Wholesome Tummies began franchising in 2010. Since then, Wholesome Tummies has expanded to 20 locations throughout the country. Long-term goals call for 250 locations within the next five years. For more information about Wholesome Tummies, visit www.wholesometummies.com.
