Coroner IDs Pedestrian Killed While Crossing Randall

The incident occurred early Sunday along Randall Road in Crystal Lake.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL -- A 38-year-old man killed early Sunday after being struck by two vehicles while crossing Randall Road in Crystal Lake has been identified, authorities said. Bryan C. Reigart, 38, of Mahomet, Illinois, was hit by a Toyota Tacoma that was headed north on Randall Road at about 12:36 a.m. Reigart was crossing Randall at Angela Lane at the time of the incident.

The McHenry County Coroner’s Office’s preliminary investigation has revealed Reigart died from blunt force injuries of the head, chest and abdomen.

The driver of the Tacoma was a 27-year-old Crystal Lake resident. After being struck by the Tacoma, Reigart was struck again by a second vehicle, a Dodge Charger, which was driven by a 54-year-old Crystal Lake resident. The Charger was also headed north on Randall at the time of the crash, police said.

The incident remains under investigation by the Crystal Lake Accident Investigation Team and the McHenry County Coroner’s Office.

Anyone with information related to the crash is asked to call the Crystal Lake Police Department at 815-356-3620. In addition, anyone with a cell phone can send an anonymous tip to the Crystal Lake Police Department by texting the word CLPDTIP along with the tip information to 847411 (tip411).
