Pedestrian Killed by Metra Train

The Union Pacific-Northwest Line train struck the man near a McHenry County station at around 6 p.m. Sunday.

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Union Pacific-Northwest Line train at around 6 p.m. near the Woodstock train station, according to media reports.

Woodstock police said a man was killed after he walked in front of the train, the Northwest Herald reported. Preliminary reports indicated the man, who was not immediately identified by authorities, intentionally walked onto the tracks.

Metra reported a more than an hour and a half delay following the incident.
