Pedestrian Walking Along Route 22 Hit, Killed By Car: Police
The 65-year-old North Barrington man was wearing dark-colored clothing when the crash occurred Tuesday night.
NORTH BARRINGTON, IL — A 65-year-old North Barrington man was killed after he was hit by a car while walking along Route 22 Tuesday night.
Authorities say the man was walking on the south shoulder of the roadway near Rainbow Road when he was hit by a 2013 Ford Explorer, which was driven by a 47-year-old Geneva man. The older man was wearing dark-colored clothing at the time of the collision, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
When deputies from the Lake County Sheriff's Office arrived at the crash scene they found the 65-year-old North Barrington man dead along the ditch line, according to authorities. The driver of the Ford was not injured and immediately called 911 after the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
