Cat Dies In Crystal Lake House Fire

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A cat is dead and a Crystal Lake home is uninhabitable following a Friday morning fire, fire officials said.

The Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department responded to the blaze at 8:42 a.m. in the 400 block of Oriole Trail, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department. Two people were at home at the time of the fire and were not injured in the blaze.

The Red Cross is helping the family with housing arrangements, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
