2015 Glen Ellyn Garden Walk
What: This year’s Glen Ellyn Garden Walk will feature six private gardens, plus a bonus community-based garden. Each garden will showcase a variety of delightful features, including a palatial backyard sanctuary renovated into a peaceful, shady oasis, a transformational garden highlighting several tree varieties and more.
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 20

Festival of Heroes
What: There will be a parade, arts and crafts fair, musical entertainment, carnival, beer garden and more.

Art in Bloom Festival
What: Stroll the gardens, tour the Robert R. McCormick, buy beautiful art, enjoy music from Guitarra Azul, Classical Blast and Swing Forward. On Father’s Day, treat dad to a special brunch in his honor at the Red Oak Room at Cantigny Golf before heading over to the Art Fest.
When: June 20 and 21, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

19th Annual Blues on the Fox Festival
Where: RiverEdge Park, 360 N. Broadway, Aurora
When: Friday and Saturday
What: RiverEdge Park becomes home to the hottest blues artists – and you’re invited to the party. It’s a weekend of cold beer, smokin’ music and a good time, all while overlooking the gorgeous Fox River.

Oswego PrairieFest
What: PrairieFest is Oswego’s four-day community celebration that features main stage entertainment, children’s performers, expo village, petting zoos, pony rides, camel rides, children’s activities, parade, bed races, touch a truck event and more. Vertical Horizon will play Friday night.
When: June 18 through 21

Father’s Day Weekend Fishing Derby in Schaumburg
What: Fish, food, fun and fathers will be featured at the Schaumburg Park District’s Father’s Day Weekend Fishing Derby at Volkening Lake.
When: 9 a.m. to noon on June 20
Where: Volkening Lake, 900 W. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg
How much: Pre-registration ends at 4 p.m. on June 19. Pre-registration is $10 for residents and $14 for non-residents. Day-of registration is $10 for residents and $14 for non-residents.

Midosommar Festival
What: Festival opens with dancing around the Maypole, followed by crafts and games. Bonfire lighting and traditional toast begin at sunset. Bring a family dish to pass. Supper at 6 p.m.
