Playgrounds Open In Crystal Lake, Cary

CRYSTAL LAKE AND CARY, IL — The Crystal Lake Park District has opened most of its playgrounds with plans to also have splash pads up and running early this week, park district officials said Friday. The park district is hoping to open Main Beach on July 6 and the playground at Main Beach will open Monday.
Cary Park District officials announced Sunday that all playgrounds in town have opened. The park district has put the following guidelines in place:

- Practice social distancing at parks & playgrounds
- If playground already has more than 50 people playing, wait patiently for a few to leave before joining
- Stay six feet (or at least an adult arm’s length) away from others
- Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when coughing or sneezing and then throw the tissue in the trash and wash your hands
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth with unwashed hands
- Don’t share food, water bottles, utensils or cups
- Stay home if you have a fever (above 100.4), coughing or shortness of breath, or are otherwise unwell
- Bring disinfecting wipes or hand sanitizer to clean hands before/after play
The park district received information regarding opening beaches from the Illinois Department of Public Health Thursday night regarding guidelines for opening Main Beach. The park district is conducting staff training with plans to open the beach on July 6.
West Beach will not open this summer.
