Police Officer Threatened To Kill Wife, Drown Children In Bathtub: Authorities

LAKE COUNTY, IL — A Lindenhurst police officer faces charges in Wisconsin for allegations he threatened to drown his children and shoot his wife in the face.
Robert J. Holbach, 48, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, has been charged with one count of battery with a domestic abuse modifier and one count of disorderly conduct with a domestic abuse modifier, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner.
Holbach was arrested on Saturday and ordered to remain held on a $650 cash bond. He has since been released and is expected back in court on May 8.

Holbach has worked for the Lindenhurst Police Department for 22 years. On Tuesday, officials with the department said Holbach has been placed on leave "until a thorough internal investigation is completed," according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner.
