Police Officer Credited With Saving Baby's Life
The infant stopped breathing and was unresponsive when the Crystal Lake Police Department officer got to the Crystal Lake home.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — A Crystal Lake Police Department officer is being credited for saving the life of a baby who stopped breathing this past week.
Officer Jennifer Zielinski responded to a home in Crystal Lake on Tuesday after the baby's 14-year-old brother called to report that the two-month-old child needed medical help. The teenage brother and a 10-year-old sister were able to help their parents communicate with emergency dispatchers since there was a "language barrier."
"Both the brother and sister translated and provided important information to the 911 dispatcher which assisted in getting help to the family," authorities said. "Because of this, they each should be recognized for their bravery and composure during this scary incident."

When Zielinski arrived, the baby was not breathing or responsive, according to a post on the Crystal Lake Police Department Facebook page.
"Officer Zielinski quickly relied on her training and applied lifesaving measures," according to police. The baby started breathing again and became alert and responsive. The infant was taken to the hospital for further observation and is now doing well.
