Search Continues For Man Accused of Kidnapping Cary Woman

David Silva was arrested Friday. He was released on recognizance, but faces additional charges filed Monday including aggravated kidnapping.

CARY, IL— Cary Police are searching for a man accused of kidnapping a woman in Cary and sexually assaulting her at a hotel in Hoffman Estates is facing additional charges.

David Silva, 36, of Streamwood was arrested Friday. Police charged him with one count of kidnapping, one count of unlawful restraint, and two counts of domestic battery. Silva was released on a personal recognizance bond, according to court records.

Another arrest warrant was filed Monday on charges of aggregated domestic battery, intimidation, aggravated battery, and aggravated kidnapping, according to court records.

Police told Patch they are actively searching for Silva as of Thursday and that there is no threat to the public.

Cary Police say the Cook County State's Attorney's Office will determine if he faces additional charges for alleged crimes in Hoffman Estates.

The Cary Police Department reports a woman came to police on Thursday, July 29 and reported she had been assaulted and held against her will earlier that day.

Police say the woman met Silva at his place of employment in Cary. Silva allegedly forced her into his vehicle, drove her to a hotel in Hoffman Estates, and sexually assaulted her in a hotel room. Then, police say, he drove her back to her vehicle in Cary.

Cary Police were called to Silva's workplace on Friday evening for a trespassing complaint. Management at the business told police Silva was no longer allowed to be on the property. Before police arrived, Silva had left the business and officers located him in a parking lot in the 100 block of E. Main St., where they arrested him.
