Popeye's Is Coming To Crystal Lake

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL – A Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen is planning to open a location along Route 14 this year. The new Popeye's will be located on the eastern corner of McHenry Avenue and Route 14 – at the former site of Coventry Motors, according to the Northwest Herald.

“This is a good location,” Crystal Lake senior planner Elizabeth Maxwell told the Northwest Herald. "There is really good visibility. They will bring the storefront out to the street, similar to Auto Tech. There is a lot of traffic on Route 14, and the corridor does really well with restaurants and food service.”

The location is expected to have a drive-thru and outdoor seating, according to the newspaper. It's not clear at this point when construction will start.

Currently, the fast food chain has nearby locations in Woodstock, Carpentersville, Hampshire and Elgin.
