Possible Serial Bank Robber: FBI Asks Public's Help
Cary police and the FBI are investigating a series of bank robberies in which the suspect descriptions are quite similar.

CARY, IL — Police are asking the public's help in finding information on a man who robbed a Cary bank on Thursday. It was soon after 2 p.m. Thursday when police responded to the robbery at the U.S. Bank on W. Main Street, according to a release from Cary police.
There were no injuries and there was no gun displayed. The suspect gave a note to a bank teller who gave him money, then he left, police said.
The suspect is described as a 35-year-old man with a black hat, gray jacket, tan backpack and black pants. He was last seen walking south from the bank and may have driven a black Ford Edge toward Barrington.

Police believe the suspect may be responsible for robbing a series of other banks in recent days. They are as follows, according to the Northwest Herald:
- Sept. 22: BMO Harris Bank on S. Barrington Road, South Barrington
- Oct. 10: U.S. Bank on Irving Park Road, Hanover Park
- Oct. 10: BMO Harris Bank on N. Kennedy Drive, Carpentersville
The FBI description of the suspect in these robberies is largely similar to that of the Thursday robbery. The suspect was also wearing black-framed glasses, has facial acne, patchy facial hair and unkempt hair, the FBI said, according to the Herald.

The Cary police and the FBI are investigating the case. Anybody with information is urged to call Cary police at 847-639-2341 or McHenry County CrimeStoppers at 800-762-7867 or the FBI Chicago Field Office at 312-421-6700. There's an award up to $1,000 from the FBI for information leading to the capture of the suspect.
