Race For Open Space Is This Weekend

The McHenry County Conservation District 5K will be held at Hickory Grove Highlands, 500 Hickory Nut Grove Lane, Cary.

McHenry County Conservation District: Final call for 3rd annual Run Wild – Race for Open Space 5K with McHenry County Conservation District

Don’t miss your chance to Run Wild this year at McHenry County Conservation District’s third annual Run Wild - Race for Open Space 5K held Saturday, October 5, race starts at 8:30 a.m. at Hickory Grove Highlands, 500 Hickory Nut Grove Lane, Cary.

Lace up your shoes and win some raffle prizes! Enjoy fall colors, late season wildflowers, tall grasses and towering oak and hickory trees along the race route. The moderate terrain provides an exciting and challenging experience for runners of all skill levels. Awards given for top male/female finishers and by age group, plus unique finisher medals for each participant.

Registration is open for all ages 5 and up. Cost: Adults – $35 Aug. 1 thru 5pm Oct. 4 /$42 day of event (cash or check only); $20 Youth 5–13. Registration and details are online at http://bit.ly/RunWild5K-2019.

Proceeds from the race will benefit the community by providing funds to provide recreational and educational opportunities for individuals and families to connect
