Raue Center For The Arts offers a wide variety of free programming in a cozy and intimate space in Crystal Lake.
From the Raue Center for the Arts: Come enjoy a good cup of coffee and a show at the Raue Café! Raue Center For The Arts is excited to offer a wide variety of free programming in this cozy and intimate space. Raue Center is dedicated to supporting local artists and their craft, and the café showcases performances from artists of all kinds, from poets, dancers and songwriters to jugglers, magicians, comedians and more!
“Raue Center is invested in the arts in our community and the artists who create it,” says marketing manager, Michele Vazquez. “We want to give them a place to hone their craft and explore new work.”
Enjoy good friends and good reads with GET LIT(erary) at 7 p.m. on August 10, 2017! This monthly reading series hosted by Williams Street Repertory takes place every second Thursday at the Raue Café. Each month, a group of readers is chosen from a pool of WSRep actors and supporters to read from work by a wide array of distinguished authors.

Join Raue Center in sharing what talents the community has to offer during an acoustic Open Stage at 7 p.m. on August 16, 2017. Every third Wednesday of the month, the Raue Café welcomes performers of all kinds – poets, dancers, songwriters, jugglers, magicians, comedians – you name it – to share their talent and passion for the arts.
Join Raue Center’s Poet-in-Residence, Egan Click, for Poetry Night at 8 p.m. on August 28, 2017! Held every fourth Monday, Poetry Night at the Raue Café is a late night excursion into the written word. This event is an opportunity for anyone in the room to become a beatnik emboldened to sing songs or pen poems that delight and excite! Come out to see big names in poetry and your local favorites read, rhyme, sing, speak and perform their work.

Building on their free café programming, Raue Center is pleased to announce a new Cabaret Series on the mainstage! The new series kicks off with “The Real Royal Family: Kings and Queens of the Music Industry,” featuring the song stylings of Crystal Lake Native, Tina Naponelli, at 8 p.m. on August 12, 2017.
Raue Center’s new Cabaret Series will feature local artists and their musical accompanists in a specially designed performance space. Like Lucy’s Comedy Cafe and Dueling Pianos, our new Cabaret Series will be hosted on the mainstage with intimate seating in a jazz club atmosphere. Audiences can enjoy a drink at the bar as each artist provides an array of music that is sure to keep each event new and exciting!
