These Classes Inspire Critical Thinking

The Crystal Lake Park District is offering two programs designed to introduce the game of Chess to students. These classes inspire critical thinking and will ensure that your child does not put their thinking cap away during the summer. Monday-Friday, June 22-26, 10-11:30 am (registration deadline June 17)
Oakwoods Lodge, Route 176 & Second St, Crystal Lake
Program Fee: $128, Resident Discount Fee: $118
Develop your child’s intellect through the royal game of chess!! No previous knowledge of chess is necessary. Each class will consist of a fun interactive teaching period and guided practice time with personalized attention. Both beginners and experienced players are welcome and will get t the next level with the help from an experienced Chess Scholars coach. Students can participate in a chess competition with prizes.

Summer camp for the brain. This class is an exciting opportunity for your child to develop logic, problem solving and planning skills. Every class, each child will learn two or three new skill-based games (no luck or chance involved!) Both team and individual games will be played. There will also be a tournament with prizes.
