Relative Finds Man Dead After Fire Damages Home: Officials

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A man was found dead Monday inside a Lake in the Hills home after a family member went to check on him and reported a possible fire.

Fire crews responded to the residence on Brittany Bend and found no active flames from outside, but discovered significant fire damage inside the home, according to the Lake & McHenry County Scanner. The man was located deceased inside the structure, and officials later determined the home was heavily damaged and uninhabitable.

Authorities said the incident does not appear to be suspicious, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to the media report.
