Results Released from Crystal Lake Distracted Driver Awareness
April was distracted driver awareness month.
From Crystal Lake PD: From April 21st through April 27th , the Crystal Lake Police Department participated in Illinois’ Distracted Driving Awareness Week. The Crystal Lake Police Department joined other state and local law enforcement agencies across Illinois in this annual effort to make motorists aware that fewer distractions while driving saves lives.
During the mobilization, The Crystal Lake Police Department issued 13 citations and 26 warnings for the use of an electronic communication device while operating a motor vehicle. Informational handouts were also issued during these traffic stops explaining the various laws pertaining to
distracted driving.
