34 Businesses Pass Tobacco Compliance Checks in Crystal Lake
The Crystal Lake Police Department checked 34 businesses in the city and all passed the compliance checks, police said.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - The Crystal Lake Police Department on Monday conducted compliance checks at 34 businesses in the city. Every business passed the compliance checks and none of the businesses sold tobacco to a minor, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.
The Illinois Liquor Control Commission is the lead agency in developing strategies that reduce illegal tobacco sales to minors. A state grant, provided by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission, funds the Crystal Lake Police Department’s tobacco compliance checks, according to a news release.
The Crystal Lake Police Department remains committed in our efforts to stop illegal tobacco and e-cigarette product sales to minors by the implementation and expansion of community-based programs, utilizing retail education, enforcement and public awareness, according to a news release.
