Scarecrow Festival Plans Take Shape
Those wishing to sign up to participate in this year's festival in October can do so now.

ST. CHARLES, IL — The St. Charles Business Alliance is now accepting applications for those wishing to sign up to participate in this year's Scarecrow Festival in St. Charles.
The festival will run Friday, Oct. 7, through Sunday, Oct. 9, in downtown St. Charles. Businesses, groups and individuals can choose to participate in four different categories, and the deadline for signing up to compete in this year's fest, which is in its 37th year, is Sept. 17.

There will be cash prizes handed out to the top three scarecrows in each category. Voting will be done in person at this year's event. This year's categories include:
- Mechanical/Mega Category:1st Place, $500; 2nd Place, $350; 3rd Place, $100
- Clubs, Not-for Profit, Schools Category: 1st Place, $200; 2nd Place, $150; 3rd Place, $100
- Individuals Category: 1st Place, $200; 2nd Place, $150; 3rd Place, $100
- Business Category: 1st Place, $200; 2nd Place, $150; 3rd Place, $100
The completed form needs to be mailed or emailed to the St. Charles Business Alliance by Sept. 17.

This year's festival will run from 12 to 6 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, and will include a family zone with live entertainment and family activities, a festive photo op area, special and promotions throughout town.
The Autumn on the Fox Craft Show will also take place at Pottawatomie Park over the Scarecrow Fest weekend.
