Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued for McHenry County
The severe thunderstorm warning will remain in effect until 1 p.m. for western McHenry Co.

UPDATE AT 1:50 P.M.: A severe thunderstorm warning will remain in effect until 2:15 p.m. for northwestern Lake and central McHenry counties. At 1:46 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over Richmond, or near Twin Lakes, moving northeast at 25 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Threats with this storm include 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail.
Hail damage to vehicles is expected as is wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted by this storm include McHenry, Woodstock, Antioch, Fox Lake, Harvard, Lake Villa, Marengo, Wonder Lake, Pistakee Highlands, Long Lake, Lindenhurst, Johnsburg, Lakemoor, Spring Grove, Richmond, Hebron, Bull Valley, McCullom Lake, Ringwood and Greenwood.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for eastern Winnebago, Boone and western McHenry counties. The warning will remain in effect until 1 p.m. The main threats are wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter sized hail.
Weather officials are urging residents living in the warning area to head indoors until this storm passes.
