Police activity was reported in an area in Lake in the Hills on Thursday morning.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — A shelter in place issued in Lake in the Hills on Thursday morning has been lifted, police said.

The alert, which was posted on social media at around 10 a.m., urged the public to avoid the area of Washington Street and Clayton Marsh Drive between McKinley and Lincoln Streets due to police activity. At that time, a shelter in place was in order.

The shelter in place has since been lifted, police said.
