Silgan Plastics Corporation is planning to lay off 151 employees by late April and close its Woodstock plant at 1005 Courtaulds Drive, the Northwest Herald reports.
The 151 employees affected by the lay-offs hold mainly manufacturing positions and ”helped produce plastic tubes for Silgan customers primarily in the personal care market,” according to the article. The recent announcement is a major shift from the company’s original restructuring plan, which called for the layoff of 39 employees to be made by mid-November, according to an earlier article on the Northwest Herald.
